150th Anniversary Celebrations
Week 4 Prayer
From the Principal
Welcome everyone the new week.
3 Way Conversations: In term 2 we offer our formal conversation opportunities for staff to meet with parents and students, these sessions will take place on Monday May 27th and June 3rd. Bookings for these Conversations will open next Monday with further details in next weeks newsletter.
Welcome Sky: This week welcome Siwat (Sky) SRIPHRAI-NGAMI and his mother to our school community. Sky comes to us from Thailand will will join Gr 3 in 3/4AM, we hope he has an amazing transition into our community.
Catholic Education Week Celebration: Our Year 6 students have visited Emmanuel College today to meet with the other Year 6 students from OLHC, St Pius X, St John’s Dennington, St Pat’s Koroit, St Pat’s Port Fairy and Year 7 students from Emmanuel. They have shared a morning tea together then particpated in a “people’s choir” led by Tom Richardson.
Student Safety: We have noticed an increased number of students who are using bikes, scooters, Segways or E-Scooters as a means of travelling to and from school. With these forms of transport comes responsibility on the users to make sure they are using these pieces of equipment safely. Unfortunately this has not been the case and since term has commenced, we have had a number of incidents where children on these have devices have hit another student.
Powered bicycles, scooters etc can be very dangerous when not used correctly and I ask all parents to be diligent and responsible when considering if their child is old enough to use the device, particularly if it is a powered bicycle, scooter etc.
We look forward to the week ahead, Ben.
School Closure Day
Students are not required at school tomorrow as staff will be participating in personal development training on Wellbeing with Mel Frost from DOBCEL.
Division Athletics
Last Friday 3rd May, several students from Years 3-6 represented our school at the division athletics at Braurander Park. Excitement and nerve levels were high and the weather was spectacular. All the students did a fantastic job in their events and it was great to see them encouraging each other throughout the day. Some students performed exceptionally well and will now go on to compete in the Regionals later in the year. More details to come about the qualifiers for Regionals.
Well done once again to the following students who showed fantastic sportsmanship throughout the day: Emmillion, Harvey, Harley, Harry, Evie D, Maggie, Charlotte M, Lottie, Isabelle, Lily, Mailee, Greta, Imogen, Maddi, Isla. Charlotte and Hayley unfortunately could not compete on the day due to illness, we wish them both the speediest of recoveries.
